Altruism: the medicine that can improve your overall health

Hello Viewers of my page, welcome again and thank you for reading my post, feel free to leave me a message or comment, i greatly appreciate it.

What if you discover that there is one medicine with the possibility to improve your health by;

1.      Reducing stress

2.      Relieving you from depression

3.      Decreasing your awareness of pain.

I bet you will be interested!!

Well, that amazing prescription is altruism, the next question is how? How does altruism accomplish the above-mentioned benefits.

Research was conducted amongst 3000 Americans who tried altruism and it showed that 95 % of those who took it regularly said they experienced heightened physical sensation which for many led to the above-mentioned beneficial effects.

So, what is altruism? and how does it really work? Most people would be thinking it might be writing a check for charity or even taking care of your family and friends (even though these bring fulfillment, too) this is not the kind of altruism that over time will boost your health and happiness the most.

The altruism that keeps you happier, healthier, and feeling younger is when you have one on one contact with a stranger, then the benefits bloom for both of you, that is when you discover the healing power of doing good.

Howard F. Andrews, Ph.D., epidemiologist, and senior staff associate in neurology at the Columbia University College of physicians and Surgeons in New York city analyzed data from more than 20 volunteer organizations across the USA, they were asked questions about the type and frequency of helping activities they participated in, the state of their health and their participation of the physical and emotional effects of helping. It was discovered that those who helped others often report significantly better health, including less depression, less pain, and even fewer visits to doctors.

Off course problems and pain do not vanish when you volunteer to help someone, but they can be alleviated to a great degree when you focus outside yourself.

Altruism as an antidote to Loneliness. How?

Age in most people bring with it physical and emotional problems, by helping others, focusing intently on these people, and getting good feelings literally replace your negative feelings.

You hold that person’s hand, they smile at you, they hug you- these good feelings are buffering and reducing the negative stress in your life.

Altruism what an incredible antidote to loneliness and isolation
